Our country

Uruguay has an open economy and a long-standing tradition as a free market with very few restrictions on the exchange of capital.

Current incentives, geared towards the creation of sources of employment, the introduction of high-technology industries and the increase in exports, apply both to local and foreign investors.

Free Port

Regarding Duty-Free Zones, to be dealt with specifically, we must remember the Uruguayan system of Free Port. This system guarantees the free circulation of goods in the Montevideo Port, without the need for formal authorizations or proceedings.

For as long as the goods remain inside the port customs area, they are exempt from any and all duties and charges applicable to imports or that may arise thereof.
